TL;DR: Don't abuse the Service, respect intellectual property, pay on time, and we'll provide a great product. You can cancel anytime. We're not liable for code you break.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, you confirm that:
You are at least 18 years old
You have the authority to enter into this agreement
You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
2. Description of Service
DeadCode.io is a SaaS platform that analyzes source code repositories to identify:
Unused code (dead functions, variables, imports)
Unreachable code paths
Duplicate code blocks
Commented-out code
We provide reports, recommendations, and integrations to help you maintain cleaner codebases.
3. Account Registration & Security
3.1 Account Creation
You must provide accurate, current information
You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
3.2 Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that:
Violate these Terms
Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
Abuse the Service (e.g., excessive API requests)
Fail to pay subscription fees
4. Acceptable Use Policy
You may NOT:
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
Use the Service for illegal purposes
Upload malicious code or viruses
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Resell or sublicense the Service without permission
Scrape or crawl the Service using automated tools
Use the Service to analyze code you don't own or have permission to access
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Code
You retain all rights to your source code
You grant us a limited license to process your code for analysis purposes
We do not claim ownership of your code or scan results
5.2 Our Service
DeadCode.io, including all software, algorithms, and documentation, is owned by Marketing Studios
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our Service
Our trademarks, logos, and branding are protected
6. Billing & Subscriptions
6.1 Pricing
Current plans:
Free: 1 repo, 5 scans/month
Starter: $49/month — 5 repos, 50 scans/month
Pro: $149/month — 25 repos, 250 scans/month
Scale: $399/month — Unlimited repos & scans
6.2 Payment Terms
Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually (in advance)
Payments are processed via Razorpay
All fees are non-refundable except as required by law
We may change pricing with 30 days' notice
6.3 Cancellation
You may cancel anytime from Account Settings
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period
No prorated refunds for mid-cycle cancellations
6.4 Overages
If you exceed plan limits, you may be charged overage fees or required to upgrade.
7. Data Privacy & Security
Our Privacy Policy governs how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points:
We process code in-memory during scans; no permanent storage without consent
Scan results are retained for 90 days (configurable)
You can export or delete your data at any time
8. Warranties & Disclaimers
8.1 Service Availability
We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance.
8.2 Accuracy of Results
DeadCode.io is provided "AS IS." We do not guarantee:
100% accuracy in detecting dead code
That removing identified code won't break your application
Compatibility with all programming languages or frameworks
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TESTING CODE CHANGES IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT BEFORE DEPLOYING TO PRODUCTION.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
Marketing Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the last 12 months
We are not liable for data loss, downtime, or security breaches caused by third parties
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Marketing Studios from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
Your use of the Service
Your violation of these Terms
Your infringement of third-party rights
11. Third-Party Services
We integrate with third-party services (GitHub, Razorpay, Supabase). Their terms and privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their actions or failures.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification 30 days in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
13. Termination
Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. Upon termination:
Your access to the Service will be revoked
Your data will be retained per our Privacy Policy (30 days)
Outstanding fees remain due
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
14.2 Arbitration (US, Canada, Australia)
For users in the US, Canada, or Australia, disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except for small claims court or intellectual property disputes.
14.3 Jurisdiction (India, EU)
Courts in Mumbai, India have exclusive jurisdiction for users in India and the EU.
